AEROMEDICAL & SEARCH AND RESCUE

AEROMEDICAL SERVICES

The Joyce Aviation (Fiji) Group CEO has long recognized the issues within the areas of primary medical care and evacuation-both locally and overseas as the main impediments to development in Fiji- particularly with an aging tourist population, and the increased interest in adventure sports.

In an attempt to address this situation, Joyce Aviation has equipped our AS355 twin engine helicopter with an articulated medical stretcher and essential medical equipment to enable overwater patient transfers and landings at CWM or Lautoka Hospital. We also have two R-44 (3 passenger seats) available to transfer medical staff & equipment or seated patients at a more affordable rate.

In addition to local media personnel and facilities, we have also teamed up with a dedicated international jet retrieval service in Australia that has medical staff and aircraft on 24-hour standby to provide specialist medical advice, diagnosis and a retrieval service anywhere within the Pacific Basin. We have staff on standby 24hours per day in the event of an emergency to assist in arranging medical assistance and or evacuation either by helicopter or fixed wing as and when required.

LIFEFLIGHT FIJI

About 6years ago, Tim Joyce (CEO of Joyce Aviation) teamed up with Anthony Blake (founder of the Fiji Aeromedical & Rescue Services Trust) to develop Medivac capabilities and SAR in Fiji with the vision of ensuring access to health and care services for all Fijians.
Together, they have established “LifeFlight Fiji” with the support of LifeFlight Australia (previously Care Flight) for technical and training support. In 2017, LifeFlight Fiji was registered as part of the FARST (Fiji Aeromedical & Rescue Services Trust) charitable trust.

The vision of the LifeFlight Fiji is to provide search and rescue capability and subsidized aeromedical evacuations to citizens (and visitors) of Fiji. The Joyce Aviation Group is the preferred aviation partner of LifeFlight Fiji as we have both helicopter and airplanes suitably equipped for AME and SAR missions to anywhere in the Fiji Islands, including Rotuma. Included in the partnership is the development of a regional and international multi-role platform to facilitate international evacuations as required.
